Harbour Care

LEARN MORE

We would like to introduce to you Harbour Care.

At Harbour Care we are pioneering in our approach to care. With recent Care Inspectorate grades of 5 across our Service we currently care for residents from 25 to 99. A variation from the Care Inspectorate has increased our younger adult capacity to 22 placements for young adults aged between 25 and 64.

Our home is placed in the small quiet community of Dysart within walking distance to local shops and amenities. We are almost but not quite at the beach and near the harbour. We have excellent links with the local and wider community and have a dedicated care team with 24/7 nursing care. We have Mental Health nurse availability that has expert experience in caring for young adults

We believe strongly in supporting the individual needs of our residents

Our team focus with person centred care that keeps our residents safe, secure and encourages independence as much as possible.

Therefore we have a very engaged activities team who dedicate time to ensuring our residents have as much interaction both inside and outside the home. Our networks are strong and currently our residents have the opportunity to work in voluntary placements attend supportive lunch clubs related to their individual needs and community groups. They attend swimming, lunches at local restaurants, bowling session’s cinema trips and they further attend support groups as required.

We have tailored younger person’s activities in the home and have successfully developed intergenerational activities to include our other unit. Our younger persons have the opportunity to cook for themselves if they wish to do so. Our young residents have the opportunity to launder their own clothes and assist with day to day living all with support from the Adam House team. Regular monthly meeting with our residents that often drive activities and past times in the home

Community support

As stated we have a fantastic support from our local community and our recent Summer Fete raised £4900. Our younger residents were proactive in assisting us before and on the day. Our local shops assist with the shopping experience and we strongly support all our residents to have input to meals shopping and purchases

Please call me to discuss potential admissions. We are quick and efficient in our assessment
