Orchard House is situated in the beautiful scenic Clyde Valley

Overlooking the village or Crossford and the river clyde and allegedly contains the oldest orchard in Carluke parish according to the ordnance survey name book of 1858 – 1859

Orchard house is located just off the A72 and it’s within easy travelling distance of Lanark, Carluke and Hamilton and the surrounding areas of North and South Lanarkshire.

Orchard house has recently expanded and now offers accommodation for 44 residents over the age of 50 years old.

Our residents benefit from our private and secure landscaped gardens for peaceful relaxation, gardening or gentle exercise.

Communal rooms are bright and airy and offer spectacular views over the River Clyde and the valley.

Orchard House has a highly qualified chef The both who possess extensive catering knowledge to meet all dietary requirements and nutritional needs.

Peter, our chef, obtained an award for food for life catering when working as a head chef for South Lanarkshire Council, making them the first council in the UK to win this award.

The care home has a qualified hairdresser who attends twice weekly and we have access to multiple professionals who can visit as a resident requires.

We have recently completed our new extension which consists of 8 generously appointed private bedrooms, with ensuite wet rooms, smart televisions and access to the internet.

It also has a new multipurpose living area with secured access to our outdoor enclosed courtyard.

My thanks to you all the team at Orchard House for the recent excellent care of my Dad.. JS IT gave me immense relief to know that he was safe and so well looked after while I was on holiday. He thoroughly enjoyed himself and the experience , which at 91, is worth noting. Also the ongoing long term care of my sister, AS. She is completely settled and happy I her environment which is of huge importance given her Alzheimer’s Disease. She is always well presented which for me is comforting because she had a lovely sense of fashion. There was a time when she designed and made her own clothes! Your staff appear happy at their work despite the many daily care challenges they must face. Their caring attitude is also much in evidence.. it is apparent that the residents are indeed individuals. Given that I have 2 members of my family at Orchard House it is heartening to feel the warmth and happy welcome given to visitors. For me personally you have been a lifeline.

All the staff were engaging, caring and the family knew this was not put on for our benefit. Also we saw lovely interaction between the staff and residents. Our dad enjoyed the food. Dad is a loner, preferring his own company or 1-1 and the staff recognised this and allowed him time on his own away from others. As a family we were very pleased with the care dad was given. Although dad always asked to come home he said everyone was lovely and he was well looked after.

The staff are very professional, tolerant, patient and attentive. All exuded a caring personal and a sense of humour. Porridge was especially good, the activities were good and singing together was good/uplifting. Staff were very responsive and sociable.

As a family we would like to thank you all for the wonderful care you gave our mum over the last 7 years. We all really appreciate your thoughtfulness and compassion especially with mum and us as a family over her last few days. Orchard House is set in a beautiful tranquil part of the Clyde Valley. Staff at the home are very caring, compassionate and committed to the residents. Food is prepared by an award winning chef who caters for all dietary requirements. Residents also have regular access to local doctors, opticians, dentists, and chiropodists who visit the home.

For the past three and half years i have been delighted to be part of the Orchard house team providing residents with a feel good hairdressing experience twice a week. Similar to what they would receive in my salon. All the staff create a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Helping sat mealtimes has allowed me to get to know the residents personally. Recently I joined the team on a sponsored walk for the residents it was a great experience and allowed us to raise money for our residents.
